Here are some tips for potty training a puppy:

  • Establish a routine: Take your puppy outside on a leash every 30 minutes while you're awake and at home. At night, one or two trips outside is usually enough.

  • Choose a designated potty area: Pick a specific spot for your puppy to go potty. This helps them learn more quickly.

  • Use a crate: Puppies don't like to go potty where they sleep, so a crate can be an effective tool.

  • Use potty pads: These pads are absorbent and scented to encourage your puppy to go on them.

  • Reward your puppy: When your puppy goes in the right spot, praise them and give them a treat.

  • Learn your puppy's signals: Every puppy has their own body language that indicates they need to go potty.

  • Keep a log: Write down when and where your puppy goes potty to identify patterns and make changes.

  • Stick to a feeding schedule: Feed puppies under 6 months old 2-3 times a day.

  • Don't scold your puppy: Accidents happen, and you shouldn't scold your puppy for them.

  • Clean accidents thoroughly: Make sure to clean up any accidents thoroughly.
